What’s all the talk about Amazon reviews?
If you’re like me, maybe you’ve heard about the Amazon review program but you’ve been skeptical of the claims that you can actually make money doing Amazon reviews. As a mom, I am always looking for side hustles and ways to make extra money from home without being away from my kids. So when I came across this idea, I really wanted it to be true!
But when I first heard about making money doing Amazon reviews, I thought it was a scam. I thought those people were lying, or I thought it was an invite only program. Also, I figured this would be completely out of reach for a mom like me with a small blog and tiny social media following.
When I did a Google search to see if this was a legit way to make money, most of my research results turned up with no helpful information. This made me further believe that making money with Amazon reviews was not a legit way of earning money.
Can You Really Make Money Doing Amazon Reviews?
One day I came across a little information that reignited that little hope in my mind. Maybe I could make money doing Amazon reviews! I realized it was part of the Amazon Influencer program and was a special program that allowed influencers to create videos that Amazon could then potentially use to place on product pages. If someone viewed your video and purchased that product, you’d earn a small commission.
When I realized this, I was interested again! I am super passionate about earning income online and love sharing ways with other moms to create semi-passive income. I’ve never liked the idea of needing a massive social media following or sharing videos of myself or my kids to earn money. It’s not something I enjoy or want to do. I like having my family private and I’m an introvert at heart. I know many of my mom friends can relate.
So when I realized I could still be a part of this program and create videos to review products. Videos that didn’t have to be shared on social media or show myself or my kids if I didn’t want to… I realized this was exactly what I had been searching for!
Who wouldn’t want to make money doing Amazon reviews? Especially when you can review items you already have in your home and it costs you nothing to do!

Frequently Asked Questions About the Amazon Review Program
Q: Do I need a massive social media following to be accepted to the program?
No, you do not need a massive following to be accepted. If you already have a small, active public social media page, that will definitely help you get accepted sooner. This program is great for small mommy bloggers and there’s no need to have a social media page with 10k followers. No, you don’t need a blog that gets thousands of views a day either. The course I’m sharing gives great guidance on how to get accepted into the program even if you don’t already have this setup.
Q: Do I have to post my review videos on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or other social media?
No, the reviews get posted to your Amazon Influencer storefront account. Amazon then decides if a video will be placed on a product page and you can earn based on how many people on Amazon watch your video and buy that product (or related product). You make the video and get it uploaded, Amazon does the heavy lifting and sharing for you.
Q: Do I need to share links to earn commissions?
Nope! This is different than the affiliate link program. Commissions for onsite reviews are earned on Amazon if someone watches your video. This is great news because thousands of people are already on Amazon every single day! They may view your video while shopping, which then allows you to earn commissions.
Q: Do I need to buy a bunch of new products from Amazon every month to review them?
Nope! You can review products from Amazon that you already own! You’d be amazed how many products in your home are from Amazon. They even have a cool little product scanner on the app so if it’s been a while and you can’t remember where you bought it, you can scan and see if it’s sold on Amazon.
Other things I love about making money with Amazon reviews
- I don’t have to show myself or my kids in the videos if I don’t want to
- I don’t have to share links and hope people click and buy
- I don’t have to ask my friends and family to buy anything from me
- I don’t have to share my product reviews to social media if I don’t want to
- I don’t even have to buy products from Amazon (everything I have reviewed is what I already had in my home or something I needed to buy anyway)
This is such a great way to make semi-passive income for moms with young kids. I’ve seen a lot of stay-at-home moms find success with this and bring in a little extra money to take some financial burden off their families while still being present with their kids.
This is also great for families who just need a little money each month. Literally my first month, I made money and only had a handful of videos up . I barely even knew what I was doing. When I tell you anyone can do this, I truly mean it.
