Christmas Morning Traditions
I don’t know about you, but Christmas morning breakfast is a tradition around my home. It’s something we did when I was younger and I’ve carried it on into adulthood and with my own family. My mom always made the most amazing breakfast sausage casserole (recipe coming soon), and we usually had donuts or pancakes or another sweet treat on the side.
When my husband and I got married, we wanted to carry on some Christmas traditions and start our own. Christmas breakfast was definitely one of those I wanted to carry on. However, I really wanted to find another delicious, easy dish to add to my go-to recipes.
The search went on and on…. but I can finally say, I found THE ONE. The ultimate cinnamon roll casserole. Go ahead and pre-heat oven to 350 degrees so we don’t waste any time getting this baby in the oven!
This cinnamon roll casserole is so EASY that I don’t mind to prep it on Christmas morning (although I bet you can assemble it Christmas Eve and just bake it Christmas morning).
This cinnamon roll casserole requires very few ingredients and isn’t overly complicated. Thank goodness!
Everyone raves about this cinnamon roll casserole and always requests again and again each time I make it (because honestly, I don’t ONLY make this around Christmas time).
So without further delay, let’s get started on how to make this delicious cinnamon roll casserole because I know that’s what you really came here for.

Materials
- 9″x13″ glass or ceramic baking dish (my favorite casserole dish)
- Large mixing bowl (my favorite set with lids)
- Knife and cutting board (my favorite bamboo cutting boards)
- A medium saucepan (my favorite non-toxic pots and pans)
- Measuring cups (these are my favorites)
Ingredients
- 3 cans of cinnamon rolls (generic is recommended because of the cinnamon flakes, bit we have food sensitivities and use Simple Truth or Annie’s brand for this recipe and it’s just as delicious as the first time I tasted it)
- 1 stick of real butter (salted or unsalted, doesn’t matter)
- 3/4 cup of light brown sugar
Directions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 (hopefully you listened and already did this)
- Grease a 9″x13″ baking pan or use a non-stick pan
- Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters, leaving them rolled up as you cut them
- Place them in the pan and spread evenly until the entire pan is covered in cinnamon roll pieces
- Save the icing packets that come with the cinnamon rolls for later!
- Melt a stick of butter and 3/4 cup of brown sugar in a saucepan and mix together until it comes to a boil.
- Pour this mixture over the uncooked cinnamon rolls, distributing it evenly across the pan.
- Bake @350 for around 25 minutes or until the rolls are slightly brown. You may need more or less baking time, depending on your oven.
- While the dish is still warm, pour the packets of icing over the casserole and distribute evenly.
- Leave a little time for the casserole to cool and serve warm! Your crew is going to be begging for more! ๐
