Here are some egg-cellent ideas to make your Easter celebration a truly blessed experience:
Reflecting on the True Reason for the Easter Season:
- Easter Egg Hunt with a Biblical Twist: Hide plastic eggs filled with Bible verses or stories related to Easter. As children hunt for eggs, they can learn more about the significance of the holiday.
- Family Devotional Nights: Leading up to Easter, set aside evenings for family Bible readings about Holy Week and the Resurrection. Discuss the meaning of these events and how they relate to your faith.
- Create an Easter Tableau: Work together as a family to create a scene depicting a moment from the Easter story. This could be the Last Supper, the crucifixion, or the empty tomb.
Christian Easter Crafts & Creations
- Decorate Eggs with Religious Symbols: Instead of just dyes and glitter, use markers to decorate eggs with crosses, doves, or the letters “IHTH” (In His Tomb He Holds).
- Make Resurrection Rolls: Bake sweet rolls and decorate them with frosting crosses to represent the empty tomb.
- Design Easter Cards for Local Ministry: As a family, create Easter cards with messages of hope and encouragement for people in local nursing homes or hospitals.
Celebrating Easter with Fun & Fellowship:
- Easter Brunch with a Prayer: Host an Easter brunch with loved ones. Before digging in, hold a prayer of thanks for Jesus’ sacrifice and the promise of eternal life.
- Volunteer at a Local Charity: Dedicate some Easter morning to volunteering at a local soup kitchen or homeless shelter.
- Attend a Sunrise Service: Many churches hold special Easter services at sunrise to commemorate the day Jesus rose from the dead.
- You’ve Been Egged: Egg someone’s house with a fun Christian Easter twist! Fill some plastic eggs with candy or other treats and leave the “You’ve Been Egged” sign on their door. This is a great way to spread cheer amongst friends and neighbors during Easter.
